Browse the map or the lookout list, tap any tower to read and hear its history, and tap Directions to navigate to the trailhead. Save lookouts with the heart to plan a trip. Everything works offline once the app is installed.
Lookouts marked Rentable can be booked for an overnight stay. Tap Rent this lookout overnight and we'll take you to the right booking page — most are on Recreation.gov, though some are reserved through state-park or other systems. Popular lookouts book out fast, often months ahead.
In About → Auto-play, turn on "Play stories when I arrive" and a lookout's narration starts automatically as you reach it (while the app is open). This uses your location only while the app is in use.
If you've unlocked the full collection and reinstalled or changed device, tap Restore Purchases on the unlock screen or in About.
Lookouts sit on exposed summits. Check the weather and seasonal road and fire-season closures before you go, carry water and layers, and never shelter in a tower during a lightning storm. Access and rental availability can change — confirm before you travel.
