Ghost Towns Australia does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. The app works fully offline.
If you choose to grant location access, your location is used only on your device to show the nearest towns, sort them by distance, and — if you turn it on — automatically play a town's story as you arrive. Your location is never collected, stored on a server, transmitted, or shared with anyone. The app is fully usable with location turned off; those features simply hide.
The optional one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Restoring purchases uses your existing Apple account via Apple's StoreKit.
Town histories are original text. Photographs are public-domain or Creative-Commons licensed, with credits shown in the app. Map tiles are provided by Apple Maps and directions hand off to Apple Maps; their use is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
The app contains no objectionable content, collects no data, and is suitable for all ages.
