Mythsmith ("the App") is developed by Quyen Ngo. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. In short: we don't collect personal information, and we don't keep your photos.
On first launch, the App generates a random UUID and stores it in Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. This UUID is an opaque, anonymous identifier that lets the App associate your legend balance with your Apple ID across devices. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
On first launch, the App may send a signed AppTransaction token (a JSON Web Signature issued by Apple) to our backend to confirm the App was obtained through the App Store. It is used once, only to grant your initial free legends, and contains no personal information.
Your remaining legend balance is stored on our backend (hosted on Railway) and keyed to your anonymous UUID, along with timestamps for grants and redemptions and a per-day usage counter for fair-use limits. We do not store your name, email, IP address, device model, or location alongside this balance.
When you photograph an object, the image is compressed on your device, sent to our backend, and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API so it can invent a legend about it. The image is processed in memory to generate that legend and is not retained by Mythsmith's servers after the response is returned. Photos are not saved to any Mythsmith-owned database or log, and are not used to train any AI model. Legends you choose to save are stored only on your own device (and, if you enable it, your private iCloud).
Mythsmith does not request, collect, or use your location.
Mythsmith does not use the microphone.
When you buy a legend pack, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We receive a signed StoreKit transaction from Apple, which we verify and use to credit your balance. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Every legend in Mythsmith is invented fiction, generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) for entertainment. Legends are deliberately made up and are not statements of fact about any real person, place, object, or event, even when they sound plausible or reference real-looking details. Do not treat any legend as true.
We do not retain raw photos, email addresses, names, or IP addresses. Photos are forwarded to Anthropic's API, processed in memory, and discarded as soon as the response is returned. We retain only your anonymous UUID and its associated legend balance and usage counters.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third party for advertising, marketing, or analytics.
Mythsmith is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
