How does TradieTick work?

You paste the text of a tradie's quote, or attach a photo of one, and tap Analyse. The App sends the content to our AI service, which compares it against typical Australian tradie pricing, checks for missing or unusual items (a red-flag check), and generates a list of questions you might want to ask the tradie before signing.

Where do TradieTick's "typical price" ranges come from?

We update our reference data quarterly. Real prices vary based on access, materials, urgency, regional differences, and individual tradie overheads — our ranges are indicative only.

Is TradieTick affiliated with NSW Fair Trading or any government body?

No. TradieTick is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NSW Fair Trading, QBCC, VBA, or any other Australian state, territory, or federal government body. Where we link to official government registers, those are external sites operating under their own terms.

How do I verify a tradie's licence?

The App provides direct links to each state's official licensing register. Tap the "Verify" link on any analysis result to open the relevant register in Safari. For NSW, that is verify.licence.nsw.gov.au. We recommend always verifying a tradie's licence directly with the official register before signing a contract for major work.

Is the analysis "fair price" guaranteed?

No. Our pricing analysis is indicative only and based on publicly available reference data. It is not a quote, valuation, or guarantee. Real prices vary substantially based on the specifics of your situation, and a quote outside our typical range is not necessarily wrong — there may be good reasons (difficult access, premium materials, urgency) for it to be higher or lower. Always get multiple quotes for major work.

What happens to my quote photos and text?

Quote content is sent to our backend service for AI analysis and is not stored on our servers after the analysis is returned. Anthropic (the AI provider) processes the content only to generate the analysis and does not retain it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How does pricing work?

TradieTick is free to download. New users receive 3 free quote analyses on first install. Additional analyses are sold via one-time consumable In-App Purchase packs (10 analyses for USD $0.99, 30 for $2.99, 100 for $5.99 — local currency equivalents apply outside the US). There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and credits do not expire.

How do I restore previous purchases?

If you've previously bought a pack and need to restore it on a new device, open the in-app store and tap "Restore". This re-applies any previous Apple-verified transactions to your account.

What about the daily limit?

To prevent abuse of the AI service, there's a 50-analyses-per-user daily limit on top of your credit balance. Most homeowners check a few quotes a year — well within the limit. If you regularly need to check many quotes (e.g., as a property manager), contact us.

The app says my quote looks high — does that mean the tradie is overcharging?

Not necessarily. A quote outside our typical range may have a good reason — difficult access, premium materials, urgency, or factors not visible from the quote text. The App is a starting point for a conversation with the tradie, not a definitive judgement. Use the suggested questions to clarify what is included.

Can I use TradieTick for major renovations or commercial work?

The App is designed for everyday homeowner repairs and small-to-medium domestic jobs. For large renovations, commercial work, or specialised trades, the typical-price ranges may be less accurate, and you should always engage a qualified quantity surveyor or industry-specific advisor.

How do I delete my data?

The App does not store your quote content on our servers after each analysis is returned. To remove the anonymous identifier associated with your usage history, email us at qngo@icloud.com and we will delete it within 30 days.
