Frequently Asked Questions

How does Plotleaf work?

Take a photo of your yard or balcony, brush over the area you want redesigned (lawn, beds, soil, or balcony floor), choose a garden style, and Plotleaf returns a redesigned image of that area plus a suggested plant list. Your house, fence, walls, and paving are left exactly as they are.

Why doesn't it change my house?

That's the point. Most AI garden apps redraw your whole photo and invent walls or buildings that aren't there. Plotleaf only restyles the area you paint — everything outside it is kept pixel-for-pixel from your original photo, so the result looks like your place, replanted.

What styles are available?

Japanese Zen, English Cottage, Mediterranean, Modern Minimalist, Desert Xeriscape, Tropical, and Native / Pollinator. More may be added in updates.

Does it work for apartment balconies?

Yes. Switch to Balcony mode and Plotleaf restyles the floor, railings, and corners with container plants and outdoor furniture suggestions, while keeping your building, railing, and view intact. Furniture shown is a styling suggestion; the plant list is tailored to containers.

What is the climate zone for?

Plant recommendations are filtered to your climate (hardiness) zone so they're likely to survive where you live. You can let the App estimate your zone from your location, or pick it manually. Zone matching is a guide — always confirm a plant suits your specific conditions before buying.

How do credits work?

Plotleaf is free to download and comes with 3 free design credits to get you started. Each design uses one credit. When you run out, you can buy more through the App Store as in-app purchases. There is no subscription, and credits do not expire or auto-renew.

How do I buy more credits?

Tap the credit count at the top of the home screen, or open Settings and tap "Get more credits." Choose a pack (Starter / Popular / Pro) and complete the purchase through the App Store. Credits are added within a few seconds.

Can I get a refund?

Credit-pack purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests should be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Why does Plotleaf ask for camera, photo, or location permission?

The product is photo-driven — Plotleaf needs to see your yard or balcony to redesign it, and you can use the camera or pick an existing photo. Location is optional and used only to estimate your climate zone for plant suggestions; you can skip it and choose your zone manually.

Are the designs and plant lists always accurate?

No. Redesigned images and plant suggestions are AI-generated and may contain errors, impractical ideas, or plants unsuited to your soil or microclimate. Cost figures are rough guides, not quotes. Treat Plotleaf as inspiration and a starting point — confirm plant suitability, safety (some plants are toxic or invasive), and pricing with a local nursery or professional before buying or planting. See our Terms of Use.

How do I delete my data?

Plotleaf stores only an anonymous UUID and your credit balance on our server. Email us at the address below and we will delete the record. Removing the App from your device removes the local copy of your UUID.
